What if….

“What if what you’re writing doesn’t get seen or even read, what if you’re just wasting your time and energy, what if you dont even get to thrive being a newbie in here”. Well these are some random thought that come to the mind of someone who is looking to begin a journey into the world of blogging but now being faced with so much doubts and uncertainties. The phrase “what if…” comes to mind usually when you’re unsure of what would become of a thing and guess what? It has a way of crippling one’s progress…

Here’s Why.

When you allow that doubtful phrase long enough in your heart, you tend to slow down on your intentions even when they seem genuine and promising. It has a way of watering down your energy and shift your gaze from possibility to impossibility. I know we are human and sometimes we experience fear coupled with doubts concerning certain things around ours lives but if we keep choosing fear and doubts over courage, faith and action, we would end up not doing the things that matters in our lives.

How should you then Handle it.

Handling it is quit simple, when the question “what if” pops up in your mind, with the goal of discouraging you, you have to face it and reverse the question and then carefully listen to yourself answer the question. let me sight an example. if you’re looking to start a lucrative business which looks promising but you have never tried it prior to this time. The question ‘What if” is likely to surface, you you hear things like “what if it fails?”, “what if you run into debt?”, “what if you don’t get investors”, “what if it’s not for you?”
All of these question have just one common goal and that goal is to discourage you from going with the plan of starting that business against all odds. Your response to this situation like I mentioned earlier is to reverse the question i.e ” what if it doesn’t fail?  “What if I do not run into debt?”  ” what if I get more than enough investors?” ” What if this business is actually for me”?
This counters the doubts and discouragement that is already building up in you and gives you a positive perspective of what you have set your heart to do. It gradually kills pessimism and make you become optimistic about the future. answering the question which you have obviously reversed gives you positive feedback which then pushes you to take a bold step because not trying at all and then assuming failure is the worst form of failure. in the real sense, the  failure you experience while attempting is not really failure because you’re going to learn how not to fail eventually. Not attempting at all is what is considered the real failure because you’re completely clueless and cripple by fear and doubt.
I hope this inspires you.
