OnTheNode aims to correct material errors promptly and transparently.
Requesting a correction
Use the Contact page and select Correction or update. Include the article URL, the statement you believe is inaccurate, the proposed correction, and reliable supporting evidence.
How we respond
We review the original material, supporting sources, and the significance of the alleged error. We may contact the requester, author, editor, or another knowledgeable source. A request does not guarantee a change, but every specific, evidence-supported request will be considered in good faith.
Types of changes
- Material factual errors are corrected in the article, with a dated correction note explaining the substance of the change.
- Important new context may receive a dated update note.
- Minor spelling, grammar, formatting, or link repairs may be made without a note when they do not alter meaning.
- Opinions are not corrected merely because someone disagrees, but factual assertions within opinion pieces remain subject to correction.
Removal requests
We generally prefer correction or update to removal. We may remove or restrict material for legal, safety, privacy, copyright, or serious accuracy reasons. Search-engine de-indexing is considered case by case and is not guaranteed.
