The much-anticipated ‘Firedancer’ independent validator client for Solana, developed by Jump Crypto in C/C++, is nearing completion and is set to launch a major bug bounty program on July 10.
Announced by developer Cantelope Peel, this program will last six weeks and offers up to $1 million for developers who identify critical bugs in Firedancer v0.1, also known as “Frankendancer.” The initiative is supported by Immunefi, a platform specializing in security and bug bounty programs.
Cantelope Peel shared on social media that extensive testing has shown Firedancer’s execution matches the Solana protocol perfectly. This new client aims to enhance Solana’s resilience, crucial given the potential issues with current clients. The use of C/C++ in Firedancer aligns with Jump Crypto’s expertise in high-frequency trading.
Jump Crypto’s president, Kanav Kariya, highlighted the synergy between Solana’s technical challenges and Jump Crypto’s capabilities, noting their ongoing involvement in the Solana ecosystem.
Stay tuned for the results of this significant testing phase and the enhancements it promises for the Solana blockchain.
